Great analogy. There’s no way to end rebirth through force of will or speed up the attainment of wisdom. Otherwise we would have all been enlightened already. We can only create the optimal conditions for it to arise by generating a virtuous, wholesome mind that’s still and focussed.
In my experience, it’s not possible to help anyone see why this is something that’s worthwhile. They need to experience enough dukkha and realizing the game is futile before seeking a more profound solution.
